Write the price of a service, a product and a package once.

You define a service with its duration and price, a product with its opening stock and a package with the items inside it, one time only. After that you are not trying to remember a price; the list opens and the row is there.

Who it is for

For salons with a long service list, quoting prices from memory and keeping packages written down by hand.

  • Treatment centres with long service lists and prices that change often
  • Salons selling packages who want what is inside them written down
  • Salons that also want retail products in the same list
  • Teams with several staff where the same treatment takes different lengths of time

The service card: name, price, duration and who provides it

When opening a new service you write its name, price and VAT, and enter how many minutes it takes. You tick the people who provide the service, and if the duration varies by person it is entered for each of them.

  • Name, description and colour fields sit on the service card
  • Price and VAT; you enter the rate yourself, as a percentage or an amount
  • The Duration field records how long the service occupies the chair
  • The people providing the service, and a separate duration for each of them

The product card: price, VAT and opening stock

You keep the products you sell from the shelf or use during a treatment on the same screen. When opening a product you enter its opening stock, and the count appears in the Stock column of the product tab.

  • The product tab has Name, Stock, Price, VAT and Active columns
  • You enter the opening stock while creating the product
  • You narrow the list by giving a min / max range on the Stock column
  • Both retail products and treatment products live in the same list

The package: services and products inside it, with quantities

When defining a package you pick which services and products go into it, each with its quantity. You write the total package duration yourself, and the price and VAT are attached to the package itself.

  • A package needs at least one sub-record; it can be a product or a service
  • The quantity of each sub-item is written separately
  • The total package duration in minutes sits on the package's own card
  • The package tab has Name, Sub-records, Duration, Price and VAT columns

Keeping the list ready: favourites, active status and column filters

Three tabs sit on the same screen: Services, Products and Packages. You mark what you use often as a favourite and set what you do not use inactive.

  • Text filter on name, and min / max range filters on price and duration
  • Active filter: All, Active or Inactive
  • With multi-select you set several rows active or favourite at once
  • The web page settings carry a publish flag, title, description and sort order

What changes

What happens when the price list lives in someone's head, and what happens when it lives on a card:

EskidenŞimdi
The price list is on the wall and its current version is in someone's headThe price is written on the card and appears when the list opens
Two staff members quote two prices for the same treatmentThe price is in one place and everyone reads the same row
What was inside the package gets argued about afterwardsThe package's sub-records sit on the card with their quantities
How long a treatment takes is quoted from guessworkThe duration is on the card, written separately per person
Unused services bloat the listWhat is unused is inactive, what is used is a favourite

Frequently asked

What does salon service and price list software do?

It keeps the treatments you offer, the products you sell and your packages in one place along with their prices. In Bi'Salon a service card carries name, description, colour, price, VAT and duration fields, and you tick the people who provide the service on the same card. When the list opens, how long a treatment takes and what it costs appear on the same row.

Where do I find the service list?

On the Services screen in the panel. That screen has three tabs: Services, Products and Packages, and you manage all three from the same place. With the column filters you narrow the list by name, price and duration.

Can I enter a service's duration separately per staff member?

Yes. On the service card you tick the people who provide the service and write a separate duration in minutes for each of them.

Can I put both products and services into a package?

Yes. On the package card you pick sub-records from the list; services and products both appear in the same list and you write the quantity of each one separately. A package must contain at least one sub-record. You enter the total package duration into the card's own field.

Where do I track the count of a product I sell from the shelf?

From the Stock column on the product tab. You enter the opening count when creating the product, and the list shows each product's count alongside its price and VAT on the same row. To see what is running low, you give a min / max range on the Stock column and narrow the list.

How is this different from keeping the price list in a spreadsheet?

In a spreadsheet the price lives in a file, and which version of that file is on whose machine stays unclear. In Bi'Salon the service, the product and the package sit in the same catalogue, and price, VAT and duration are single values on the card. You set what you do not use inactive and mark what you use often as a favourite, so the list stays current without getting crowded.
